The Feeling of Hockey
by Tony

The feeling of touching the ice.
The feeling of taking your shot.
The feeling of making a kid roll like dice.
The feeling of reaching the top.
The feeling of making a kid think twice.
The feeling of that spot.
The feeling of picking up your head looking down the ice.
The feeling of knowing you will never stop.
The feeling of not playing nice.
The feeling of getting out the mop.
The feeling of touching the ice.
The feeling of wiping up the blood spot.
The feeling of hockey is my life.

Hockey
by Tony

Hockey is played with much finesse
But it can also become a bloodily mess.
If you're going to look down you better think twice
Because if you do you will be scraped off the ice.
If you want to play offense you must have good feet.
If you don't you better retreat.
But you life defense you better be mean
Because your coach doesn't like you playing all nice and clean
Now the final position is the goalie.
This person is considered holy

What Bugs Me
by Maddie

When I have a load of SQ3R's
When I get in trouble
for something I didn't do
When I cry myself to sleep at night
When I cant' get away
from my annoying teachers
When I don't get to go with my friend
When I have to let my
mom read the poem I just wrote

Rippling water
We are going wind surfing
Which is so much fun

Build a Poem
by Andrea , Morgan
Sarah , and Jodi

The bed was smooth
against my cheek.
She almost stopped
breathing herself.
I was afraid to look
anywhere but on
the ground.
It was hard to believe
I couldn't make it any worse.
What's wrong with her?
It is impossible to learn without asking.
I look back on these solemn
few hours.
The movement was so final
she looked at me.
Then she dropped my hands.

Sound Poem
by Seth

Chirp, Chirp
Chirpity Chirp
Whippoorwill, whippoorwill
the sound will ring,
as the birds sing.

Yankee Doodle Poem
by Seth

Yankee Doodle went to town,
Riding on a snake
He put on the sunscreen,
So he wouldn't bake.

Dream Poem
"Me"
by Deidra

Please don't judge me by my face
by my religion or even my race.
Please don't laugh at what I wear, or how
I look or do my hair.
Look a little deeper, way down deep inside.
You may not see it, but I have a lot
to hide.
Behind my clothes the secrets lie
behind my smile I softly cry.
If you look a little deeper, you could
probably see.
The lonely little girl that lives inside me.
Just listen carefully to her,
She will show she is insecure.
Try to be a friend to her, and then
you will see.
that if you look deep enough, you can
find the real me!

Yankee Doodle Poems
by Chris

Yankee Doodle went to town
riding on a snake.
He went out and got a boat
so he'd not drown in the lake.
Yankee Doodle went to town
riding on a parrot.
He had to go to Piggly Wiggly
to eat a healthy carrot.

Untitled
by Jodi

Lisa liked to skate!
she could only stay
out till eight
so she got her board
hit a Ford
and got home a
little too late!

Animal Poem
by Jodi

There once was a dog
who had a friend who was a hog
They played all day long
Then the door went ding dong
Then they went out for a jog.

Sound Poem
by Seth

Oink Oink
Oinkity grunt Oink
The pig oinks in delight
at the sight
of the mud.

Animal Poem
by Maddie

Penguins are white.
They like to bite.
Penguins are nice.
They like to eat rice.
Penguins have lice
and like to eat mice.
Penguins swim
to the brim.
Penguins waddle
in a puddle.

When Life Makes You Cry
by Tony

When life makes you cry,
Is there someone at your side
To make you get up and try
Or do you go off to hide
And just want to roll over and die.
Do you think about taking a ride?
When life makes you cry,
Is there someone at your side
To make you get up and try
'Cause you should never go off and hide
Always get up and never lie,
Lift your head high when you go for a ride.
When life makes you cry,
Is there someone at your side?
